The video and instructions in this article review the sequence for calibrating your scanner. Calibration is an essential step for ensuring you capture scans accurately. Some practices calibrate their scanner at the start of every work day, and make it a part of their opening routine.
Chairside will prompt you to calibrate the scanner whenever it needs it. You can also calibrate more frequently by clicking the icon of the power button in the top-right corner of your screen and selecting Calibrate Scanner.

- Mirror tip (Note: Mirror Tips are often confused with the Protective Tips, which are not used in the calibration process.)
Instructions for Calibration of Your Scanner
- Collect the equipment and accessories listed above.
- Place the scanner on the scanner base and click Calibrate on your Chairside software.
- Follow the stepwise instructions and associated visuals on your Chairside software to ensure the scanner can capture depth and color.
- In total, the process should only take a few minutes.
To manually prompt calibration follow the steps below:
- Select the Power icon in the upper righthand corner of your Chairside software.
- From the dropdown menu that appears, select Calibrate Scanner.
- Follow the instructions and visual aids to calibrate your scanner.
